We Can Pray on Monday, March 30, 2009 12:00:00 AM
The news that the murderous abortionist George Tiller was acquitted literally sickened me.
In 2007 my daughter gave birth to the most precious little boy. He is his Papaw’s pride and joy, his lttle buddy. I was in attendance at the birth, wiping my daughter’s brow, praying for mother and baby and I remember the joy I felt as that little head crowned.
But then, unexpectedly and overwhelmingly, the picture of that killer from Kansas filled my mind and I thought, “He would have no compunction about taking scissors and perforating this precious baby’s head and sucking his brains out.” I became nauseous, and it took me some moments to shake the sickening revulsion I felt.
I retutned to “coaching” and thanked God for the miracle of life He was giving to us. That precious first cry filled us with so much joy, and his life is a continual blessing.
How many babies were seconds away from taking their first breath but were cut off from life and their spontaneous first cries never allowed to be heard in Tiller’s clinic?
When the FOCA bill was first presented to Congress, I published the graphic pictures of partial birth abortion in a newsletter – I had to print a warning that children should not be allowed to view them. At that time I led a family activist group with a few thousand members, and we worked tirelessly against that legislation.
Then Obama, with the stroke of a pen overturned the partial birth abortion ban, and now, a killer walks free to kill again and again and again.
God hears the cry of innocent blood calling from the ground, and he will avenge it. America’s ground is polluted with the blood of millions of unborn and partially born and slaughtered babies. Why would a just God NOT bring judgment against such evil?
Numbers 35:33 “So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it. “
It has been pointed out that, legally, George Tiller is not a murderer, and sadly, we must realize that because the laws of this nation permit him (and countless others) to continue to kill and shed innocent blood, we are, as part of this nation, all guilty. The nation that allows such and calls it “choice” as if it were a good thing is guilty of the death of millions. We have called good evil and evil good, but God is not mocked.
Numbers 35:33 is plain, but see also Genesis 4:11 where the innocent blood of Abel cried out, and after the flood God assured/warned Noah and the few other survivors.
Genesis 9:5-6 “Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother I will require the life of man. Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man.”
Surely, if ever Americans needed to hear and heed the Word of God the time is now, and the Word is clear about what we must do.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
We can pray.
